Permintaan molases global mengalami pertumbuhan selama sepuluh tahun terakhir.
Global demand for molasses has grown over the past decade. Indonesia is the second-largest exporter of molasses in the world. However, the sustainability of Indonesia’s molasses exports faces challenges due to policies promoting bioethanol programs, which have intensified market competition from other countries. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness and export development of Indonesian molasses in comparison with competing countries across five main export destination markets. The methods used include Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamics (EPD), and the X-Model. The results indicate that Indonesian molasses has strong competitiveness in all five export destinations, with the most favorable trade position found in the Philippines (Rising Star). Furthermore, the X-Model analysis reveals that the Philippines holds the highest potential for sustaining Indonesia’s molasses exports. Based on these findings, Indonesia needs to enhance its competitiveness by optimizing its existing potential.
