      Abstract

Halal certification can be done by regular and self declare pathways. The regular path for all business actors and the self declare path for micro and small businesses that meet certain requirements. Identification of essential oil products of PT XYZ products using a flow chart for identifying critical points of vegetable ingredients and other ingredients and using a checklist instrument for the suitability of the halal certification process with the description of the required documents. The regular path halal certification process requires more complex requirements and higher costs compared to the self-declaration path. Regular path halal certification involves many stages of verification and audit by certification bodies such as LPPOM MUI. In contrast, the self-declaration pathway is designed to be simpler and cheaper, especially for micro and small businesses that meet certain criteria set by BPJPH. PT XYZ, which falls into the scope of small businesses and the halalness of the raw materials used can be proven by halal certificates and simple production processes, shows that the identification of PT XYZ essential oil products has met the requirements of both halal certification pathways in Indonesia.
