dc.description.abstractPig is a potential livestock in Gomo District, South Nias. The existence of pig farming and its waste product of manure in the area will undoubtedly affect responses and perceptions from the community. This study aims to examine the response and perception of the community towards pig farming and pig farm waste in the Gomo District, South Nias, North Sumatra. The study employs an interview method with 100 randomly selected respondents using stratified random sampling by considering variables such as respondent profiles, responses, and perceptions toward pig farming and livestock waste. The results show that the community in Gomo District has a positive response and perception towards pig farming. However, the knowledge and awareness of the community in Gomo District regarding waste management of pig farm are still relatively low.
