Profil Fenotipik Domba Garut dan Hasil Persilangannya

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi profil fenotipik sifat kualitatif hasil persilangan antara induk betina domba Garut dengan pejantan dari rumpun berbeda. Sampel domba yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 166 ekor dari rumpun domba berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati sifat kualitatif domba yang terdiri dari; warna bulu, pola bulu, bentuk dan warna tanduk, bentuk telinga, bentuk ekor dan profil muka domba. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi langsung di lapangan yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis deskriptif dan perhitungan frekuensi relatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan warna bulu putih-hitam memperoleh nilai persentase tertinggi pada pejantan Garut (50%), pejantan Doper (100%), induk betina Garut (60,7%), dan beberapa tipe persilangan seperti; Batur x Garut pada jantan (63,6%), Dorper x Garut (64,2% dan 66,7%) dan Garut x Garut (57,8% dan 64,4%) di kedua jenis kelamin anaknya. Sifat tidak bertanduk mendominasi hasil persilangan domba, baik pada anakan jantan maupun betina. Sifat bentuk tanduk, bentuk telinga, dan bentuk ekor pada tipe hasil persilangan merupakan varian fenotip yang membedakan antara persilangan sesama domba Garut dengan persilangan Garut dengan rumpun pejantan berbeda (F1 Dorper, F1 Suffolk dan Batur).

This study aims to identify the phenotypic profile of qualitative traits crosses between ewes Garut and rams from different breeds. The number of samples used in this research was 166 sheep from differences in breed of sheep. Qualitative traits categories had seven indicators for this research, incorporated in fleece colour, fleece pattern, horn shape, ear shape, tail shape, facial profile, and horn colour. The method used in this research was direct observation and analysis by descriptive and account by frequency relatives. The result of research described that the combination of white and black colours earned the highest value on the Garut rams (50%), Dorper rams (100%), Garut ewes (60,7%), and several offsprings of crosses typical such Batur x Garut for male offspring, Dorper x Garut (64,2% and 66,7%) and Garut x Garut (57,8% and 64,4%) for both sex offspring male and female. The trait of polled dominated crosses typical of sheep for male and female offspring. The horn, ear, and tail type were different factors to reveal between Garut and their crosses (F1 Dorper, F1 Suffolk and Batur).
