      Abstract
      PT. XYZ briket arang adalah perusahaan ekspor yang bergerak dibidang produksi pengolahan arang kayu menjadi briket arang. Perusahaan seringkali salah dalam memperkirakan jumlah produksi yang berdampak pada laba perusahaan. Kekurangan produk mengakibatkan keuntungan tidak maksimal sedangkan kelebihan produk dapat meningkatkan biaya simpan dan biaya produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan optimasi produksi briket arang sesuai permintaan pasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemrograman dinamis. Variabel keputusan diambil berdasarkan pada kegiatan di pabrik yaitu kegiatan produksi dan kegiatan pengadaan bahan baku. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan model formulasi pemrograman dinamis. Hasil terbaik optimasi pemrograman dinamis diperoleh total biaya produksi sebesar Rp1.391.608.780, sementara total biaya produksi aktual perusahaan sebesar Rp1.453.678.025. Dari hasil perbandingan didapatkan metode penelitian ini memberikan penghematan biaya sebesar Rp62.995.159.
       
      PT. XYZ charcoal briquettes is an export company engaged in the production of processing wood charcoal into charcoal briquettes. Companies are often wrong in estimating the amount of production that has an impact on company profits. Product shortages result in non-maximum profits while excess products can increase storage costs and production costs. This study aims to plan the optimization of charcoal briquette production according to market demand. The method used is dynamic programming. Decision variables are taken based on activities in the factory, namely production activities and raw material procurement activities. The data obtained is then processed with a dynamic programming formulation model. The best result of optimizing dynamic programming was obtained for a total production cost of Rp.1.391.608.780, while the company's actual total production cost was Rp.1.453.678.025. From the results of the comparison, it was found that this research method provided cost savings of Rp.62.995.159.
