Pengaruh Penyiraman Sebelum Proses Transportasi Terhadap Respon Fisiologis Ayam Broiler
Abstract
Broiler chickens are chickens used for the purpose of producing meat. The
chicken farming industry is highly dependent on the transportation process, both
from the location of the farm to the chicken slaughterhouse (RPA). This study aims
to analyze the differences in the physiological response of broiler chickens to the
treatment of being given water sprinkling and not being given water sprinkling
before transportation Signs of stress in broiler chickens during transportation are
increased heart rate, increased respiratory respiration, increased rectal temperature
and decreased body weight. The livestock used were 78 broiler chickens ready for
harvest this week, with an average weight of 1,843±0,023 g. The procedures carried
out include loading, traveling, and unloading. The observed variables were
microclimate, heart rate, respiration frequency, rectal temperature, weight loss.
Data were analyzed using RAL factorial 2x2. The result showed that broiler
chickens that received watering treatment had lower physiological response values
and reduced body weight.
