      Abstract
PT XYZ is a shared factory company for canning various products to MSMEs and others. Less priority to customers with small number orders, inappropriate between total product shipments and product demands, high product variety, different processing time of each product, and limited number of machines and employees were problems that cause queues on production line and delays in product delivery. Therefore, it is necessary to design a production scheduling system that can produce an effective production schedule so that daily production capacity can be maximized, and the products can be completed on-time. The research was started in exploration phase by identifying existing factors that affect the production scheduling system in PT XYZ. These factors will become the inputs in designing the Microsoft Excel-based production scheduling system. The sequencing methods used in the system were Critical Ratio (CR) method and retort machine capacity adjustment. PT XYZ have approved the designed system since results of validation testing show a very feasible system for representative users with a percentage of 85% through Usability Testing and has been simulated to help reduce the total completion time with more remaining time by 48.2% and complete the entire production process on time (0 days delay).
