Pengaruh Letak Keranjang Angkut dalam Proses Transportasi terhadap Cedera, Susut Bobot Badan dan Mortalitas Ayam Broiler.

Abstract

Broiler adalah ayam tipe pedaging yang paling umum diternakkan di Indonesia. Manajemen transportasi pada ayam pedaging perlu diterapkan dengan baik untuk menjaga kondisi ayam pedaging selama diangkut ke tempat tujuan. Tujuan penelitian ini dilaksanakan adalah mempelajari pengaruh pengangkutan ayam broiler terhadap penyusutan bobot badan, mortalitas, dan cedera ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua perlakuan berupa letak keranjang dengan jenis bahan yang sama namun letak keranjang berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada hari dan jarak transportasi yang sama. Variabel yang akan diteliti dalam peneitian ini adalah penurunan bobot badan, mortalitas, dan cedera ayam broiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penempatan posisi keranjang berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,05) terhadap penyusutan bobot badan dan persentase penyusutan bobot badan. Nilai persentase mortalitas sebesar 0%, di mana jarak pengangkutan yang relatif tidak jauh, sehingga penempatan posisi keranjang tidak berpengaruh terhadap tingkat mortalitas. Penempatan posisi keranjang ayam tidak berpengaruh terhadap cedera ayam broiler, namun kepadatan keranjang dan waktu pengangkutan yang mempengaruhi cedera ayam broiler.

Broilers are the most common type of broiler bred in Indonesia. Transportation management in broilers needs to be implemented properly to maintain the condition of broilers while being transported to their destination. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of transportation of broiler chickens on body weight, mortality, and injury of broiler chickens. This study used two treatments in the form of a basket with the same type of material but placing a different basket. The research was conducted on the same day and distance of transportation. The variables that will be investigated in this study are weight loss, mortality, and injury of broiler chickens. The results showed that the placement of the basket position had a very significant effect (P <0.05) on body weight loss and the percentage of body weight loss. The percentage value of mortality is 0%, where the transportation distance is relatively not far, so that the placement of the basket position has no effect on the mortality rate. Placement of the position of the chicken basket does not affect the injury of broilers, but the density of the basket and the time of transportation that affect the injury of broilers.
