Analysis and Design of Mobile Traceability System for Frozen Meat Quality Surveillance at PT X
Abstract
The quality surveillance process at PT X involves many activities. It makes QA/ QC inspectors unable to focus on the documentation process and traceability, especially on frozen meat products produced at PT X. Manual documentation and non-integrated system also hurdle to establishing efficient traceability operations. This research aims to analyze the necessary process of quality surveillance activity along each stage of PT X products, design components of the traceability system, prototype system components, and evaluate system performance in terms of verification and validation. This research designed a traceability architecture with a one-step-forward and one-step-back approach and analyzed the workflow using BPMN and UML diagrams. The traceability activity and documentation involve collecting the supplier's material information, conducting incoming checking, processing checking, outgoing checking, and summarizing the result to the traceability system to provide product information and history. The application's functionalities are documentation, manual and QR code tracking, and tracing. The mobile traceability system has been validated and verified towards the performance and behavior components, and the results were running well. Hence this mobile traceability system could be implemented as a traceability tool at PT X.
