      Abstract

Ulva lactuca salt residue as a natural ingredient can be used as a body scrub so that it can replace the use of polyethylene microplastics. Jicama powder has antioxidant activity which plays a role in increasing the effectiveness of body scrub. This study aims to determine the best concentration of jicama powder in the body scrub with 7% Ulva lactuca salt residue with the appropriate characteristics. The residual concentration of Ulva lactuca salt used was 7% and the concentration of jicama powder was 1%, 3%, and 5%. The addition of the concentration of jicama powder had a significant effect (p<0.05) on the sensory values, pH, dispersion, adhesion, moisture, total phenol, and body scrub antioxidants. The best body scrub product is UB 7:5 (7% Ulva lactuca salt residue and 5% jicama powder). Body scrub UB 7:5 produces adhesion 2.8 seconds, pH 6.55, diameter spread 2.70 cm, skin moisture 51.90%, suspense stable, homogeneous, total phenol 557.71±2.53 mg GAE/ g, antioxidant activity of CUPRAC 1.20±0.0070 g/mL Ascorbic acid/g sample and ABTS with IC50 248.89±7.29 μg /mL.
