dc.description.abstractKambing PE (Peranakan Etawah) telah menyebar ke berbagai daerah di Indonesia dengan lingkungan yang berbeda-beda. Adaptasi terhadap lingkungan berakibat pada perbedaan ukuran permukaan tubuh linear pada kambing PE. Ukuran permukaan tubuh linear merupakan salah satu sifat kuantitatif yang ditentukan banyak pasang gen (poligenik) dan sangat dipengaruhi lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan menentukan variabel pembeda kambing PE induk betina pada kondisi gigi I3 antara peternakan Sahid dan Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BPTU-HPT) Pelaihari, dengan menggunakan analisis diskriminan. Data sekunder yang diperoleh dari Laboratorium Pemuliaan dan Genetika Ternak Fakultas Peternakan IPB University, digunakan pada penelitian ini. Variabel yang diukur adalah tinggi pundak (X1), tinggi pinggul (X2), panjang badan (X3), lebar dada (X4), dalam dada (X5), lebar pinggul (X6), panjang pinggul (X7), lingkar dada (X8), dan lingkar kanon (X9). Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif, T2 Hotelling, diskriminan Fisher, dan penggolongan Wald-Anderson. Variabel pembeda ukuran permukaan tubuh linear kambing PE induk betina I3 peternakan Sahid dan BPTU-HPT Pelaihari yaitu tinggi pinggul (X2), lebar dada (X4), lebar pinggul (X6), panjang pinggul (X7), dan lingkar kanon (X9). Penggolongan Wald-Anderson menunjukkan satu kambing PE induk betina I3 di BPTU-HPT Pelaihari memiliki kemiripan ukuran tubuh dengan kambing PE induk betina I3 di peternakan Sahid.id
dc.description.abstractEtawah-grade (Peranakan Etawah or PE) has dispersed to some regions in Indonesia, where each region has a different environment. Adaptation to the environment causes Etawah Grade goat (PE) variations in linear body surface measurement depending on the region. Linear body surface measurements are quantitative traits determined by some gene pairs (polygenic) and highly influenced by the environment. This research aims to study and determine the discriminator variables of Etawah-grade does between Sahid farm and BPTU-HPT Pelaihari using discriminant analysis. The data will be used in this study as secondary data, obtained from Animal Breeding and Genetics Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, IPB University. The measured variables will be withers height (X1), hip height (X2), body length (X3), chest width (X4), chest depth (X5), hip-width (X6), hip-length (X7), chest girth (X8), and cannon circumference (X9). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T2˗Hotelling, discriminant analysis Fisher, and Wald-Anderson. The discriminator variables among linear body surface measurements of Etawah-grade does between Sahid farm and BPTU-HPT Pelaihari are hip height (X2), chest width (X4), hip-width (X6), hip-length (X7), and cannon circumference (X9). The classification of Wald-Anderson showed that one Etawah-grade does on BPTU-HPT Pelaihari has a similar body size to the Etawah-grade does on Sahid farm.id
