Kajian Perkembangbiakan Embrio Burung Mamoa (Eulipoa wallacei) di Kecamatan Galela Kabupaten Halmahera Utara
Abstract
Some studies on embryo’s reproduction on bird has already been done, however scientific studies on mamoa bird are very few. This research was done to study characteristics of hatching nest on laying habitat, embryo development stages which naturally and artificially hatched, compare the rate of natural and artificial hatchability and also vibiliability of Mamoa chick at 1 month old. This research was done in 3 laying area around the beach in Galela district. By using 70 eggs each or natural and aryificial hatching. Parameter observed were nesting and hatching characteristic. The result showed that laying habitat of Mamoa bird around the beach were sandy soil SiO2 pH between 5.9-6.7, and high SiO2 content (51.2%). Hatching nests dimension were affected by season (rain/dry) and moon’s shine (dark/light). Embryo’s weight were high on artificial hatching than natural hatching on day 21 to 35, while in other day were not insignificant. Both of naturally and artificially hatched eggs were develop on day 10. Fertility and hatchability on natural hatching wete better (100%) if it compared to artificial hatching (81.18%). One month age Mamoa bird on viability of natural and artificial hatching were (100%). Regression analysis between egg weight and hatching weight on both hatching methods shows linier correlation.
