dc.description.abstractEggplant is one of popular vegetable in Indonesia, commonly consumed in a fresh state or after cooking. The increase of demand of eggplanthas affected the need to improve the variety, quality, and the quantity of eggplant in the market. Proper postharvest handling is needed in order to mantain the quality of eggplant. The objective of this study is to find out the type of packaging and amount of mechanical damage along with the effect of the duration transportation simulation. The parameters observed in this research is based on the physical quality of eggplant such as mechanical damage, weightloss, hardness, total dissolved solids, and color change. The target of this study is a suggestion for type selection of packaging, that is ideal for the transportation of eggplant.en
