dc.description.abstractRemittance is one of the most important aspects of international migration. Remittance has an important role for households economic survival and betterment. This research aims to examine the role of international migrant workers ' remittance for economic of households in rural areas. This research was carried out in the Gelogor Village, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara through quantitative approach with qualitative data support. The research was carried out on 40 households that one of its members works as international migrant worker for at least four consecutively years. The research findings that households spend the most of remittance for consumption purposes, such as to buy food, clothing, furniture, electronic goods, and for house building and renovation, and some of it for investment in children education, livestock, agricultural land, and also for small business development and saving. Remittance is able to improve the economic conditions of the households, although it’s not too focused for investation and production purposesen
