Fertility and viability are common parameters used to evaluate environmental safety as well as breeding potency of transgenic organisms. This research was performed to evaluate the reproductive performance of F2 generation GH (growth hormone) transgenic male common carp. This research used completely random design with two factors (transgenic and non-transgenic) and three replications. Three GH transgenic male common carp (TGJ) and three non-transgenic (NTJ) fish were crossbred with two non-transgenic female common carps (NTB), resulting 12 families. Parameters observed were semen volume, motility, duration of motility, number of sperm cells, survival of embryo, hatching rate, survival of larva until 3 days old, and morphology of sperm and larva. The results showed that semen volume of TGJ and survival of juvenile in 30 days was higher compared to NTJ (p<0,05), while motility rate, duration of motility, number of sperm cells, survival of embryo, hatching rate, and survival of larva were similar (p>0,05). Furthermore, there were no abnormalities found in sperm morphology of TGJ and the hatched larva of TGJ x NTB crossbred were the same with NT. As the conclusion, reproductive performance of GH transgenic male common carp showed good and similar result with the non-transgenic fish.en
