dc.description.abstract | Farming is one of many alternative employments for the rural communities in Indonesia. Farming gave opportunity for men and women to get involved. Not only in farming, the involvement of men and women can be found in the domestic activities and social activities. The objective of this research is to analyze gender roles of horticulture farmers families and breeders families at Sunten Jaya Village, Lembang Sub-district, West Bandung District. Men and women in two types families have the different gender roles according to their abilities. Research results show that activities and decision-making in reproductive are dominated by women, whereas activities and decision-making in productive are dominated by men. In addition, characteristic of farming, characteristic of family and the level of gender awareness are affecting the level of gender equality in farmers families. | en |
