Pengembangan media interaktif edukasi penyuluhan pengendalian geminivirus tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.)

Abstract

Chili pepper yellow leaf curl virus caused by Geminivirus in red chili is one of the most devastated diseases of chili peppers.This virus cause crop loses up to 20-100%. Therefore, farmers need to be assisted with information and provided with information sources to control this virus attack. One of the methods is to inform farmers about this virus is through an interactive media in an animation form. Animation can describe about virus characteristics, virus habitat, virus spread among the plants, the symptoms of virus attack and technique for controlling virus attack. The research method used multimedia development life cycle (MDLC) and animation production used software, like Adobe Flash, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Soundbooth, and Format Factory. The developed prototype of the animation system has been tested and used by users (by respondents selected consisting of students, farmers, and agricultural extention workers). From the testing it was shown that the system is claimed to be easy to use, easy to understand, and useful

Penyakit kuning yang disebabkan oleh Geminivirus pada tanaman cabai sangat merugikan petani karena dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil panen 20-100%. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sumber informasi bagi petani untuk dapat mengendalikan serangan virus ini. Salah satunya dengan penyampaian informasi menggunakan media interaktif dalam bentuk animasi. Animasi menjelaskan tentang sifat virus, tempat hidup virus, proses penularan dan gejala penyakit, serta cara pengendalian yang baik terhadap geminivirus. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) dan pembuatan animasi ini menggunakan perangkat lunak seperti Adobe Flash, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Soundbooth, dan Format Factory. Sistem pengembangan animasi diuji coba dan digunakan oleh responden secara acak yang terdiri dari mahasiswa, petani dan penyuluh pertanian. Hasil uji coba tampilan animasi menyatakan bahwa sistem animasi mudah digunakan, mudah dimengerti dan bermanfaat.
