dc.description.abstractShortage of supplies and consumption increase of fuel made the resources of world fuel is getting more scarce and expensive. To overcome these problems, various efforts that aim to make the use of fuel more efficiently has to be done. Otoinfus is one of implement that was specifically designed to improve the efficiency of fuel used in combustion processes in the combustion engine by increasing the power of the diesel engine at a certain level of fuel use. Research of otoinfus application that was aims to improve the internal combustion engine has been carried out on the Nissan SD16 diesel engine. The research were conducted by measuring of the power of diesel engine without Otoinfus, compared with the same engine installed by Otoinfus. The results of the study showed that the installation of Otoinfus on the diesel engine was significantly influenced the increasing of torque. Maximum torque of diesel engine was increased from 94.74 to 97.28 Nm (2.85 %). With the installation of otoinfus, specific fuel consumption of diesel engine’s tend to be lower than un-installing otoinfus. The decreasing of the diesel engine's SFC was 2.70%.en
dc.description.abstractSumberdaya bahan bakar minyak di Indonesia semakin langka dan mahal. Hal ini disebabkan ketersediaan bahan bakar minyak yang semakin terbatas dan penggunaan yang semakin meningkat. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, diperlukan berbagai upaya untuk mengefisienkan penggunaan bahan bakar minyak. Otoinfus adalah salah satu implemen yang dirancang khusus untuk mengefisienkan penggunaan bahan bakar minyak dalam proses pembakaran pada motor bakar, dengan cara meningkatkan daya dari motor bakar pada tingkat penggunaan bahan bakar tertentu. Penelitian aplikasi otoinfus untuk meningkatkan daya motor bakar dilakukan pada motor diesel Nissan SD16. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara mengukur daya motor tanpa pemasangan otoinfus dan dibandingkan dengan daya motor setelah dipasang otoinfus. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemasangan otoinfus meningkatkan torsi maksimum dari 94.74 Nm menjadi 97.28 Nm (2.85 %). Dengan pemasangan otoinfus, konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik motor bakar diesel cenderung lebih rendah daripada sebelum dipasang otoinfus. Penurunan SFC pada motor diesel ini sebesar 2.70%.
