The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes in the physical properties of rice bran as a result of the addition of sawdust. Sawdust mixed with rice bran by different levels of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The design used was CRD (completely randomized design) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Data analysis was performed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by orthogonal contrast test. The addition of sawdust in the treatment in affecting the physical properties of rice bran. Value of the physical properties of rice bran were specific gravity (kg l-1) amounted to 1.33, 1.31, 1.29, 1.27 and 1.24 (r = 98.59%), bulk density (g l-1) amounted to 275.27, 267.38, 259.55, 251.26 and 243.13 (r = 97.97%), compacted bulk density (g l-1) amounted to 432.30, 420.19, 405.08, 393.29 and 385.61 (r = 98.64% ), angle of repose (°) were 39.90, 39.68, 39.35, 39.15 and 38.95 (r = 98.28%). All of physical properties can be used to detect forgeries, but based on the results of the correlation, compacted bulk density had the highest closeness of the relationship. This results showed that compacted bulk density was the best indicator to detect forgeries.en
