dc.description.abstract | Sunflower seed oil is one of fat that can be used as an energy sources. The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of sunflower seed oil in premating, pregnant and lactation in eight Garut ewes with body weight 22.12±1.69 kg used in completely randomized nested design. The status of physiology (premating, pregnant, and lactation) nested in two treatment, control (without sunflower seed oil) and 4% sunflower oil addition in the ration with four replications. The parameters observed were dry matter, crude protein, crude fat intake, and blood profiles (haemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocytes, leukocytes, MCV, MCHC, and leukocyte differentiation). Result showed that the addition of 4% sunflower seed oil was not affected to blood hematology, but the status of pregnant and lactation tends to increase erythrocytes and percentage of basophils. Dry matter, crude protein, and crude fat intake in pregnant and lactating ewes were higher than premating. Crude fat intake in 4% sunflower seed oil treatment was higher than control. It was concluded that the addition of 4% sunflower seed oil was not interfere blood hematology in premating, pregnant, and lactation ewes. | en |
