Animal walfare issues to appropriate things to be considered in the application of eyestalk ablation on gonadal maturation of shrimp in the shrimp hatchery. The purpose of this study was to develop an alternative to eye stalk ablation technique with the hormonal induction of gonad maturation in shrimp vaname. Pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) hormone, recombinant growth hormones from Epinephelus lanceolatus (rElGH), and antidopamin (AD) 3 is used to induce gonadal maturation of broodstock shrimp. Hormones administered via the feed for 28 days, with treatment: A. 40 IU PMSG/kg shrimp + 0,01 mg AD/kg shrimp, B. 80 IU PMSG/kg shrimp + 0,02 mg AD/kg shrimp, C. 40 IU PMSG/kg shrimp + 0,01 mg AD/kg + 0,1 mg rElGH/kg shrimp, D. 80 IU PMSG/kg shrimp + 0,02 mg AD/ kg + 0,1 mg rElGH/kg shrimp, E. Ablation, and F. Control. Each treatment consists of 15 individual shrimp with shrimp as replication. Results showed that the shrimp were induced with hormones have matured on day 14, while the shrimp were ablated started on day 7. Treatment hormone 40 IU PMSG + 0,01 mg AD + 0,1 mg rElGH showed the best results for the number of shrimp mature gonads (80%), the percentage of spawning shrimp (66,7%), fecundity (84.600±1.528), hatching rate (41%) compared to other hormone treatments. Performance of hormone treatment 40 IU PMSG + 0,01 mg AD + 0,1 mg rElGH when compared with the results of ablation showed that the number of shrimp mature gonad reached 86%, the percentage of spawning shrimp 93%, fecundity 87%, and hatching 73%. Recombinant growth hormone has no effect on the growth of shrimp weight (P>0,05), but significant effect on fecundity and hatching rate (P<0,05). PMSG hormone, rGH, and antidopamin can induce gonadal maturation in shrimp vaname. Induction hormonal ablation may be an alternative technique in gonadal maturation in shrimp vaname.en
