Pemberian berbagai jenis madu dengan rasio pengenceran berbeda setelah masa penyimpanan terhadap kualitas sperma ikan patin siam (Pangasius hypopthalmus).
Abstract
Good seed can be produced by a good broodstock, to produce a good broodstock would takes a long time and high cost. A problem that usually occurs in catfish hatchery industry was time ovulation of catish eggs for 9-15 hours after injection. So it takes time for the sperm waiting for 6 hours for the whole egg can be fertilized well. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various types of honey (longan honey, lychee honey, and cottonwoods honey) on sperm quality Siamese catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) with different dilution ratios after the storage period which includes scores motility, percentage motility, viability and morphology of sperm, fertilization rate, and hatching rate. The best treatment was obtained on the aplication of longan honey as a sperm diluent 1:50 dilution ratio. Size of sperm head reached 4,29±0,51μm and a long tail 27,22±1,54μm. Sperm motility scores obtained 5,00±0,00aA, sperm motility 87,67±0,58aC%, sperm viability 96,33±0,58aB%, the fertilization rate 97,10±0,70cC% and hatching rate 93,44±2,39cC%. In addition, the ratio of fresh sperm fertilization 1mL and the number of eggs reaches 1:125000.
