Pengembangan basis pengetahuan manajemen nutrisi cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.) di wilayah tropika berbasis pertanian teliti (Precision Farming)

Abstract

Red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a strategic agricultural commodities grown in Indonesia. Cultivation of red chili generaly faces many constraints, such as cultivation techniques, pests and plant diseases, post-harvest handling, and fertilization. These constraints can occur because the average of a farmers have insufficient knowledge on cultivation best practices, particularly about fertilization for red chili. The objective of this research is to developed knowledge base of red chili nutrient management in tropical region based on precision farming. This research includes data and information collecting, knowledge acquisition, knowledge base repesentation, knowledge coding and testing. Finally prototype a application development was done to demonsrate the usability of knowledge based developed in this research. Knowledge aquisition was carried out by literature survey and expert interviews. In our system, knowledge is represented as decision trees/decision tables, and related data model. The main result of this research is the knowledge base of red chili nutrient management and cultivation that can be used for several application such as expert systems, decision support systems, and consultation systems for farmers, agroindustry, practitioners, or other agribusiness units. The specific result of the research is a knowledge about how to determine dosage of limestone/sulfur based of pH and texture, animal manure based of organic carbon, singular and compound fertilizers based on the amount of red chili nutrient requirement. The knowledge base system was implemented using PostgreSQL and the application prototype was built using PHP on web platform basis
