      Blood Metabolic of UP3-Jonggol and Garut Rams Fed Ration Containing Indigofera zollingeriana and Waste Bean Sprouts

      Abstract
      This study was done to evaluate blood metabolic profiles (blood glucose, blood cholesterol and blood urea nitrogen) of UP3 jonggol and garut rams fed ration containing 30% Indigofera zollingeriana and 30% waste bean sprouts. Investigations were carried out on 12 local rams, six garut and six UP3 jonggol breed, 7 months ages, 14.93 ± 1.38 kg BW. The rams fed two rations with the ratio of the forage and concentrates 30:70 ration. P1 contained 30% Indigofera zollingeriana and P2 contained 30% waste bean sprouts as pellet. Design of this experiment was completely randomized design with factorial (2x2). First factor was feed (30% Indigofera zollingeriana and 30% waste bean sprouts) and second factor was breed (UP3 jonggol and garut rams). Variables measured were feed consumption, plasma glucose, plasma cholesterol and plasma urea nitrogen. The results showed that nutrient intakes (dry matter, crude fiber and extract ether) of 30% waste bean sprouts were the highest but there were no significant different of crude protein and nitrogen free extract consumption. There were no significant different of plasma glucose (71.3 ± 13.9 mg/dl), plasma cholesterol (70.8 ± 14 mg/dl) and plasma urea nitrogen (28.5 ± 4.6 mg/dl ) among the treatments. The concentrations were at normal values. There were no interaction between both main factors. It was concluded that 30% of bean sprouts waste or 30% Indigofera zollingeriana could maintain the same blood metabolite status of local rams.
       
      Usaha ternak domba merupakan salah satu alternatif dalam memenuhi kebutuhan protein hewani masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu upaya peningkatan produktivitas ternak adalah dengan meningkatkan mutu pakan dan memperhatikan kecukupan nutrisi pakan tersebut. Secara umum domba mengkonsumsi hijauan. Hijauan yang biasa dimakan oleh domba yaitu rumput-rumputan dan termasuk di dalamnya limbah pertanian. Domba lokal yang dipelihara dengan pakan rumput saja mengalami pertumbuhan yang lambat dikarenakan kebutuhan zat makanan domba tersebut tidak dapat dipenuhi dari rumput saja sehingga diperlukan hijauan dalam hal ini legum dan limbah pertanian yang memiliki kandungan zat makanan yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan domba lokal. Metabolit yang terdapat dalam darah merupakan indikator dari jumlah nutrien yang di serap dalam tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi konsumsi zat makanan dan profil metabolit darah yaitu, kadar glukosa darah, urea darah (BUN), dan kolesterol darah pada domba garut dan domba UP3 jonggol dewasa yang diberikan dua jenis pakan yang mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana dan limbah tauge. Penelitian ini disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap faktorial (2 x 2) dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah ransum, P1 adalah ransum yang mengandung 30% Indigofera zoolingeriana dan P2 adalah ransum yang mengandung 30% limbah tauge. Faktor kedua adalah jenis domba yaitu garut dan UP3 jonggol.
