dc.description.abstract | The research was carried out from April to June, 2010 at Babakan Field LaboratoryPonds, Darmaga. The research aimed to increase the rematuration process rate on striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmusthrough a combination of Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin(PMSG)and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) hormone injection with 5 and 2,5 IU; 10 and 5 IU;also 20 and 10 IU/kgof spawner body weight dosage combinedwith vitamin mixaddition to fish feed. Sixteen femalestriped catfish spawner were used, consisting of twelve PMSG-treatedspawner and 4 control spawner. This researchused one way single ANOVA with 4treatments and 3 replications. Statistic analysis of observed variables showed unsignificant differences among the three treatments in rematuration parameters. It was resulted that rematuration rate was increased in treatedspawners indicated by a 100% pregnancy. Spawners treated with 10 IU PMSG and 5 IU HCG/kg of spawner body weight along with 20 IU PMSG and 10 IU HCG/kg of spawner body weight dosage was able to reach maturity and spawned with the larval survival rate on the fourth day at 98,63% and 84,81% respectively, thus making 10 IU PMSG and 5 IU HCG/kg of spawner body weight as the best dosage. | en |
