dc.description.abstractMangosteenis anexotictropicalfruitwith higheconomicvalueandfavored by the people.Mangosteen has a thick peel withhighmoisture contentso it has longer shelflifre compared to other fruits. However, along with long storage periodthemoisture content of the peelis reduced, causing thepeelhardness. Waxingis one waytomaintainquality ofthe fruit.Waxingcan cover thewoundon the fruitso thatthe process oftranspirationcan be reduced.During theobservation,the mangosteenwassemi-cutted toprovideease ofopeningthe fruitto the consumer.It was found thatsemi-cutting treatmentdid notsignificantly affect the moisture content and hardness of the peel, but still provided ease opening of the fruit.en
