Abstract
The experiment was conducted to study the effect of feeding complete ration in pellet form containing Indigofera zollingeriana and lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) leaves on sperm quality of New Zealand White crossbred rabbits. The rabbits were grouped according into 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments were R0 (commercial fed), R1 (complete ration containing 30% lamtoro leaves), R2 (complete ration containing 20% lamtoro leaves and 10% Indigofera leaves), R3 (complete ration containing 10% lamtoro leaves and 20% Indigofera. leaves), R4 (complete ration containing 30% Indigofera leaves). All of rations were fed to tested rabbits for 60 days, with preliminary trial period for 14 days. Semen was collected and its quality according to treatment were analyzed macroscopically and microscopically. The data were analyzed with statistic of descriptive. The results showed that there were no significant effect among given ration on sperm motility, viability and abnormality percentage of the rabbits. The range of percentage sperm motility, viability and abnormalities were 0%-70%, 46.88%-94.33%, 2.87%-19.33%, respectively. It is concluded that all complete rations containing Indigofera zollingeriana and lamtoro leaves played positive role on spermatogenesis in rabbit.
