The aim of this study was to investigate the protein utilization efficiency of completed ration that contained 30% of Indigofera or sprout bean waste. Two groups of local rams consisted of 8 heads of Garut rams and 8 heads of UP3-Jonggol rams were involved in this experiment. The rams were 9 months with live weight average at 14,93 ± 1,38 kg. Two different rations, R1 (30% indigofera + 70% concentrate) and R2 (30% limbah tauge + 70% concentrate) were used as treatments. Both of feeds and water were given ad libitum. The parameters measured were feed consumption, protein balance and body weight and the efficiency protein utilization. Factorial Completely Randomized Design was used as experimental design. First factor was ration and the second factor was ram’s breed. The data were analized with analysis of variance, and the means of each treatment were tested with the contrast orthogonal test. The result showed that R2 resulted in higher protein dry matter and protein consumption and protein retention (P<0,01) than those of R1, but there was no significant difference in protein digestibility, the efficiency protein utilisation and average daily gain. There were no interaction between both main factors. It was concluded that 30% of bean sprouts waste in rams ration could increased dry matter and protein intakes and protein retention compared to indigofera ration.
