      Abstract
BEST tilapia fish Oreochromis sp. is one of the important commodity of fresh water aquaculture in Indonesia. The problem often faced by Indonesian farmers in the delivery of BEST tilapia fish seed is the low survival rate due to life changes in water quality during the transport, so that the transportation technology capable of carrying as many fish as possible with the smallest possible death is required. One way to do to neutralize the ammonia is by adding zeolite and activated carbon in the packing media. Transportation is carried out for 24 hours and 20 days old maintenance with the packing of BEST tilapia fish seed 2- 3 cm size with a density 700 fish/L and add the dosage of 20 g of zeolite, 10 g of activated carbon. Treatment difference is the addition of salt dosage is 4 g/L, 8 g/L, 12 g/L, and 20 g/L. The results showed the addition of the treatment dose of salt 4 g/L is more effective than other treatments with the survival rate of 99.57%. It is also seen on the water quality better than other treatments, TAN 1.70 ± 0.02 mg/L, NH3 0.003±0.000 mg/L, CO2 15.98 ± 0.00 mg/L, temperature 24 ± 0.00 oC, pH 5.4 ± 0.08, DO 3.55 ± 0.35 mg/L, and the hardness of 115 ±1.41 mg/L. Value of survival rate seed maintenance post treatment for 20 days was 98.14%, higher than other treatments, with the rate of daily weight of 5.06% and the cost for transportation of IDR 31.199, -.
