dc.description.abstractIndonesia has a high proportion of household, which have deficit food energy in every provinces, that is why diversification is needed, even become one of the main pillars in achieving the food security. However, in fact, Indonesian people are still depended on the rice paddy. Changing people's behavior in consuming the rice paddy is not easy, it is needed to learn first about how people's attitudes towards staple’s food of the rice paddy and the non rice paddy. That is because the attitudes can influence behavior. This study investigated the attitude and consumption behavior of Cireundeu Village community between the rice paddy and rice cassava. Some people of Cireundeu village have been consumed rice cassava as their staple food. Based on those case, people’s attitudes and consumption behavior can be interesting to be used as the implementation learning of food security or food diversification in other areas. The method used in this study are quantitative and supported by qualitative data. Quantitative data collected by interviewing peoples with questionnaires. The results of this study indicated that the group of respondents that consume rice paddy tended to have a positive attitude towards the rice paddy and a neutral attitude towards rice cassava. While the group of respondents who consume rice cassava and the group of respondents who consume both staple food have a tendency to a neutral attitude to both. However, attitudes toward food staples did not correlate consumption behavior, that’s meaning attitude did not determine the consumption behavior.en
