      Abstract
      Aeromonas hydrophila infection is one of problem causes Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS). In this study, diets containing crude aloe vera extract as immunostimulant was applied to treat MAS disease in Clarias sp. Dosages of crude Aloe vera extract added in commercial diets were 10, 20, and 40 g/kg. Experimental fish were fed daily for 7 days after challenge tests, whereas the haemotological tests were observed at 3, 5, 8 days post infection. The results showed that diets containing 10, 20, and 40 g/kg of aloe extract reduced the mortality and clinical signs of wounds compared to those of control fish. Dosages 40 g/kg showed best effect and significantly different with another dosages. Fish haemotology showed no specific trends at different dosages which represented by values of eritrocyte, leucocyte, hematocryte, and haemoglobine.
       
      Infeksi bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila merupakan salah satu penyebab Motile Aeromonad Septicemia (MAS). Pada penelitian ini, pakan yang mengandung ekstrak lidah buaya diaplikasikan sebagai imunostimulan untuk mengobati penyakit MAS pada ikan lele dumbo Clarias sp. Dosis ekstrak lidah buaya yang ditambahkan ke dalam pakan adalah 10, 20, dan 40 g/kg bobot kering. Ikan uji diberikan pakan perlakuan selama 7 hari setelah uji tantang. Gejala klinis diamati setiap hari pasca uji tantang, sedangkan uji hematologi diamati pada hari ke-3, 5, dan 8 pasca uji tantang. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pakan yang mengandung ekstrak lidah buaya sebanyak 10, 20, dan 40 g/kg dapat mengurangi tingkat mortalitas dan gejala klinis jika dibandingkan dengan kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif. Dosis 40 g/kg menunjukkan hasil terbaik dan berbeda nyata dengan dosis yang lain. Gambaran darah menunjukkan kecenderungan yang tidak spesifik antara dosis 10, 20, 40 g/kg yang diwakili oleh jumlah eritrosit, total leukosit, nilai hematokrit, dan kadar hemoglobin.
