      Pemanfaatan Fly Ash sebagai Campuran Media Tanam dan Penambahan Mikoriza Arbuskula terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Rumput Gajah Pakhcong

      Abstract
      Fly ash berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai campuran media tanam untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah sekaligus mengurangi akumulasi limbah pembakaran batubara. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh berbagai dosis fly ash sebagai campuran media tanam dan penambahan fungi mikoriza arbuskula (FMA) terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput gajah pakchong. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial 3 × 2 dengan sepuluh ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis fly ash 0%, 5%, dan 10%, sedangkan faktor kedua yaitu dosis FMA 10 g dan 20 g polybag?¹. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi dosis fly ash dan dosis FMA berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) pH media tanam dan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) jumlah anakan. Dosis fly ash berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap berat segar akar, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan klorofil. Penambahan FMA berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap tinggi tanaman. Dosis fly ash dan dosis FMA tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kolonisasi akar, diameter batang, panjang daun, lebar daun dan gula batang. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan fly ash sebagai campuran media tanam hingga dosis 5% masih mampu mempertahankan pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput gajah pakchong, sedangkan penambahan FMA 10 g polybag?¹ telah memberikan respons yang setara dengan dosis 20 g polybag?¹ pada sebagian besar parameter pertumbuhan dan produksi.
       
      Fly ash has potential as a growing medium amendment to improve soil fertility while reducing coal combustion waste. This study evaluated the effects of fly ash and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) application on the growth and production of Pakchong Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Thailand). The experiment used a 3 × 2 factorial Completely Randomized Design with ten replications. The first factor was fly ash rate (0%, 5%, and 10%), while the second was AMF application (10 and 20 g polybag?¹). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The interaction between fly ash and AMF rates significantly affected growing medium pH (P<0.01) and number of tillers (P<0.05). Fly ash rate significantly affected fresh root weight, plant height, number of leaves, and chlorophyll content (P<0.01). AMF application significantly affected plant height (P<0.05). Neither fly ash nor AMF significantly affected root colonization, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, or stem sugar content (P>0.05). Fly ash application up to 5% maintained Pakchong Napier grass growth and production. AMF application at 10 g polybag?¹ produced responses comparable to 20 g polybag?¹ for most growth and production parameters, indicating that lower AMF rate was sufficient under the experimental conditions.
