      Karakterisasi Biopelet dari Limbah Kulit Kopi Arabika dengan Perekat Tepung Tapioka

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik biopelet berbahan baku limbah kulit kopi Arabika hasil pirolisis dengan penambahan perekat tepung tapioka pada berbagai konsentrasi. Pemanfaatan limbah kulit kopi dilakukan pengembangan energi biomassa terbarukan dan peningkatan nilai tambah limbah pertanian. Proses penelitian meliputi pengeringan bahan, pirolisis menggunakan kiln, pencampuran perekat tepung tapioka sebesar 2–6%, pencetakan biopelet menggunakan pelletizer tipe rotary dies, serta pengujian karakteristik biopelet. Parameter yang diuji meliputi nilai kalor, kadar abu, kadar air, volatile matter, kadar karbon tetap, densitas, ketahanan, dan laju pembakaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh biopelet memiliki nilai kalor tinggi berkisar 25,15–27,20 MJ/kg dan kadar air rendah sebesar 3,89–6,55%. Perlakuan A3 menghasilkan biopelet terbaik dengan skor total 4,4. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa limbah kulit kopi Arabika berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif ramah lingkungan dalam bentuk biopelet.
