      Aplikasi Paraprobiotik Bacillus cereus BR2 dengan Frekuensi Berbeda untuk Pencegahan Edwardsiella tarda pada Ikan Nila

      Abstract
      Ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) merupakan salah satu komoditas strategis dalam budidaya perikanan, namun intensifikasi budidaya dapat meningkatkan risiko serangan penyakit bacterial, salah satunya Edwardsiellosis yang disebabkan oleh Edwardsiella tarda. Penggunaan antibiotik sebagai upaya pengendalian penyakit berisiko menimbulkan resistansi antimikroba dan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, sehingga diperlukan alternatif yang lebih aman dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pengaruh frekuensi berbeda aplikasi paraprobiotik Bacillus cereus BR2 melalui pakan terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan dan respons imun ikan nila dalam pencegahan infeksi E. tarda. Perlakuan terdiri dari tiga frekuensi pemberian, A setiap hari, Perlakuan B dua kali seminggu, dan Perlakuan C sekali seminggu, dilanjutkan dengan uji tantang 10 hari menggunakan E.tarda 108 CFU mL?¹ sebanyak 0,1 mL ekor-1. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif melalui pemeliharaan ikan selama 30 hari dengan pemberian pakan yang dicampur paraprobiotik B.cereus BR2 konsentrasi 108 CFU mL-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan A memberikan hasil paling maksimal dan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan kontrol pada seluruh parameter penelitian dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pemberian paraprobiotik B.cereus BR2 setiap hari melalui pakan mampu meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan dan respons imun ikan nila terhadap infeksi bakteri patogen E. tarda. Dengan demikian, frekuensi pemberian terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan A, yaitu pemberian setiap hari.
       
      Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of a strategic commodities in aquaculture. However, intensive aquaculture practices may increase the risk of bacterial disease outbreaks, including Edwardsiellosis caused by Edwardsiella tarda. The use of antibiotics as a disease control strategy may lead to antimicrobial resistance and negative impacts on the aquatic environment. Therefore, a safer and more sustainable alternative is needed. This study aimed to compare the effects of different application frequencies of the paraprobiotic Bacillus cereus BR2 through feed on the growth performance and immune response of Nile tilapia in preventing E.tarda infection. This research was conducted quantitatively by rearing fish for 30 days and feeding them with diets supplemented with B.cereus BR2 paraprobiotic at a concentration of 108 CFU mL?¹. The treatments consisted of three different feeding frequencies: treatment A, daily administration; treatment B, twice a week; and treatment C, once a week. The fish were then subjected to a 10-day challenge test using E.tarda at a concentration of 108 CFU mL?¹, with an injection dose of 0.1 mL fish?¹. The results showed that treatment A provided the most optimal results and was significantly different (P<0.05) from the control in all observed parameters compared with the other treatments. These findings indicate that regular administration of B.cereus BR2 paraprobiotic through feed can improve the growth performance and immune response of Nile tilapia against pathogenic bacterial infection caused by E.tarda. Therefore, the best application frequency was found in treatment A, namely daily administration.
