Penambahan Onggok dan Urea terhadap Kandungan Nutrien dan Kualitas Fisik Silase Kulit Pisang Raja Bulu

Kulit pisang raja bulu merupakan limbah pertanian yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ruminansia, tetapi memiliki kadar air tinggi sehingga memerlukan pengawetan melalui ensilase. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penambahan onggok dan urea terhadap kandungan nutrien dan kualitas fisik silase kulit pisang raja bulu. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu P0 (95% kulit pisang + 5% onggok + 1% urea), P1 (90% kulit pisang + 10% onggok + 1% urea), P2 (80% kulit pisang + 20% onggok + 1% urea), dan P3 (70% kulit pisang + 30% onggok + 1% urea), masingmasing lima ulangan. Peubah yang diamati meliputi kualitas fisik, kualitas fermentasi, kandungan nutrien, dan fraksi serat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan onggok dan urea meningkatkan tekstur, bahan kering, nilai Fleigh, dan BETN, serta menurunkan kehilangan bahan kering, serat kasar, NDF, dan ADF. Perlakuan tidak berpengaruh terhadap warna, aroma, keberadaan jamur, dan kadar abu. Nilai TDN tertinggi diperoleh pada P2, sedangkan P3 memberikan perbaikan pada sebagian besar parameter. Penambahan onggok hingga 30% dengan urea 1% berpotensi meningkatkan kualitas silase kulit pisang raja bulu sebagai pakan alternatif ruminansia. Raja bulu banana peel is an agricultural by-product with potential as an alternative feed for ruminants; however, its high moisture content requires preservation through ensiling. This study evaluated the effect of cassava pulp and urea addition on the nutrient content and physical quality of Raja Bulu banana peel silage. A Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and five replications was applied. The observed variables included physical quality, fermentation quality, nutrient composition, and fiber fractions. Cassava pulp and urea improved silage texture, dry matter, Fleigh value, and nitrogen-free extract while reducing dry matter loss, crude fiber, Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF). No significant effects were observed on color, aroma, mold growth, or ash content. The highest Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) value was obtained in P2, whereas P3 improved most measured parameters. The addition of up to 30% cassava pulp with 1% urea has the potential to improve the quality of Raja Bulu banana peel silage as an alternative feed for ruminants.
