      Abstract
      Konsumsi susu global dan nasional setiap tahunnya semakin meningkat, namun produksi susu nasional masih belum dapat memenuhi konsumsi susu nasional. Perlu adanya peningkatan produksi susu nasional dalam memenuhi kebutuhan nasional. Salah satu yang memengaruhi produktivitas sapi perah diantaranya kondisi lingkungan dan kesehatan ternak seperti mastitis subklinis. Salah satu strategi dalam peningkatan produksi susu dan berpotensi terhadap kesehatan ternak dengan penerapan sistem kandang closed house (CH). Namun, penelitian mengenai profil susu dan respon termoregulasi terhadap kejadian mastitis subklinis pada peternakan rakyat sistem kandang CH masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis profil karakteristik susu dan termoregulasi sapi perah terhadap kejadian mastitis subklinis pada sistem kandang CH dan open house (OH). 50 ekor sapi perah laktasi (4-6 bulan pasca melahirkan) diamati pada kedua sistem kandang (CH dan OH). Parameter yang diamati meliputi produksi susu, kejadian mastitis subklinis, kualitas susu meliputi jumlah sel somatik (JSS) dan komposisi susu (lemak, protein, laktosa, solid-non-fat (SNF), dan densitas), serta respon termoregulasi meliputi suhu rektal, denyut jantung, laju respirasi, dan suhu permukaan bagian tubuh (ambing, muzzle, mata, kuping, dan perianal). Produksi susu, JSS, dan komposisi susu terhadap tingkatan derajat keparahan mastitis subklinis dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut Duncan. Uji T-test tidak berpasangan digunakan untuk membandingkan produksi susu, kualitas susu (JSS dan komposisi susu), dan respon termoregulasi antar kedua sistem kandang (CH dan OH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produksi susu sapi perah pada sistem kandang CH lebih tinggi signifikan dibandingkan dengan OH (P<0,05). Kejadian mastitis subklinis CH cenderung lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan OH. JSS meningkat signifikan terhadap tingkatan derajat keparahan mastitis subklinis pada kedua sistem kandang (P<0,05), dengan rerata JSS pada CH lebih rendah signifikan dibandingkan dengan OH (P<0,05). Komposisi susu (lemak, protein, laktosa, dan SNF) menurun signifikan terhadap tingkatan derajat keparahan mastitis subklinis pada kedua sistem kandang (P<0,05). Respon termoregulasi (suhu rektal, denyut jantung, laju respirasi, dan suhu permukaan bagian tubuh (muzzle, mata, kuping, dan perianal) tidak berbeda signifikan terhadap tingkatan kejadian mastitis subklinis (P>0,05), kecuali suhu permukaan bagian ambing berbeda signifikan terhadap tingkatan kejadian mastitis subklinis pada kedua sistem kandang (P<0,05). Sistem kandang berpengaruh terhadap produksi susu pada peternakan sapi perah. Tingkatan derajat keparahan mastitis subklinis berpengaruh terhadap JSS, komposisi susu meliputi lemak, protein, laktosa, dan SNF. Tingkat kejadian mastitis subklinis berpengaruh terhadap suhu permukaan bagian ambing sapi perah.
       
      Global and national milk consumption continues to rise each year, yet domestic milk production still cannot meet domestic demand. An increase in domestic milk production is needed to meet national needs. Factors affecting dairy cow productivity include environmental conditions and livestock health issues such as subclinical mastitis. One strategy for increasing milk production that also has the potential to improve livestock health is the implementation of a closed-house (CH) housing system. However, research on milk profiles and thermoregulatory responses related to subclinical mastitis in smallholder farms using the CH system remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze milk characteristic profiles and thermoregulatory in dairy cows in relation to subclinical mastitis in both the CH and open-house (OH) housing systems. A total of 50 mid lactation dairy cows (4-6 month postpartum) housed in CH and OH were evaluated. The measured variables included milk production, subclinical mastitis incidence, milk quality (somatic cell count (SCC) and milk composition), and thermoregulatory responses, including rectal temperature, heart rate, respiration rate, and surface temperatures of the udder, muzzle, eye, ear, and perianal region. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's multiple range test. Independent T-tests were used to compare milk production, SCC, milk composition, and thermoregulatory responses between housing systems. The results showed that the milk production was significantly higher in the CH than in the OH (P<0,05), whereas the incidence of subclinical mastitis tended to be lower in CH. SCC increased significantly with increasing serevity subclinical mastitis level (P<0,05) and remained significantly lower in CH than in OH (P<0,05). Milk fat, protein, lactose, and solid-not-fat (SNF) contents declined significantly as serevity subclinical mastitis level increased (P<0,05). Thermoregulatory responses not significantly to incidence of subclinical mastitis level (P>0,05), udder surface temperature also increased with incidence of subcklinical mastitis level, particularly in cows under housed system (P<0,05). Overall, the housing system influenced milk production, whearas serevity subclinical mastitis level affected SCC and milk composition. The incidence of subclinical mastitis level affected udder surface temperature in lactating dairy cows.
