Reducing chemical inputs in marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) cultivation is required to establish sustainable horticultural production. This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of biofertilizer consortiums on the growth, flowering phenology, flower yield, and essential oil of marigold var. Garuda. The experiment was conducted using a single-factor Randomized Complete Block Design with four treatments: control (100% chemical fertilizer), single mycorrhiza, single plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), and a mycorrhiza-PGPR combination, with chemical fertilizer reduced by 33.3% across all bioinoculant treatments. The combination treatment was demonstrated to yield the highest performance in plant height (71.26 cm), flower count (11.2 florets/plant), flower diameter (85.38 mm), harvest weight (1,203.21 g/plot), and accelerated flower blooming. Mycorrhizal treatments were shown to delay ray floret senescence. Furthermore, the combination treatment yielded the highest essential oil percentage (0.44%) at full bloom with a Vivid Orange Yellow color profile. In conclusion, the mycorrhiza and PGPR consortium was successfully shown to substitute 33.3% of chemical fertilizer inputs without compromising the flower yield or essential oil quality of marigold.
