      Kecernaan dan Fermentabilitas Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit yang didelignifikasi secara In Vitro

      Abstract
      Tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) berpotensi sebagai bahan pakan alternatif ternak ruminansia, namun kandungan lignin yang tinggi membatasi tingkat kecernaan dan fermentabilitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh delignifikasi menggunakan hidrogen peroksida (H2O2) terhadap fermentabilitas dan kecernaan TKKS secara in vitro. Perlakuan terdiri atas TKKS tanpa delignifikasi (TN) dan TKKS hasil delignifikasi H2O2 12,5% (TD) dengan lima ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pH, NH3, VFA total dan parsial, estimasi CH4, koefisien cerna bahan kering (KcBK), bahan organik (KcBO), serat kasar (KcSK), populasi bakteri total, dan kandungan asam fulvat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa delignifikasi meningkatkan (P<0,05) konsentrasi NH3, KcBK, KcBO, dan kandungan asam fulvat, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pH, VFA total, VFA parsial, CH4, KcSK, dan populasi bakteri total. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah delignifikasi TKKS menggunakan H2O2 12,5% berpotensi meningkatkan pemanfaatan TKKS sebagai bahan pakan alternatif ternak ruminansia.
       
      Oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) have potential as an alternative feed ingredient for ruminants; however, their high lignin content limits digestibility and fermentability. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) delignification on the fermentability and digestibility of OPEFB using an in vitro method. The treatments consisted of untreated OPEFB (TN) and OPEFB delignified with 12,5% H2O2 (TD), with five replications. The observed parameters included pH, NH3, total and partial volatile fatty acids (VFA), estimated CH4 production, dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter digestibility (OMD), crude fiber digestibility, total bacterial population, and fulvic acid content. The results showed that H2O2 delignification increased (P<0,05) NH3 concentration, DMD, OMD, and fulvic acid content, but did not significantly affect pH, total VFA, partial VFA, CH4 production, crude fiber digestibility, or total bacterial population. The conclusion of this study is that delignification of OPEFB using 12,5% H2O2 has the potential to improve OPEFB utilization as an alternative feed ingredient for ruminants.
