PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK KULIT KENTANG (Solanum tuberosum L.) DALAM AIR MINUM TERHADAP PERSENTASE KARKAS DAN ORGAN DALAM AYAM BROILER

Penggunaan antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) yang semakin dibatasi mendorong pemanfaatan bahan alami sebagai alternatif imbuhan pakan, salah satunya ekstrak kulit kentang yang mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang melalui air minum terhadap persentase karkas dan organ dalam ayam broiler. Sebanyak 180 ekor DOC ayam broiler strain Cobb500 dipelihara selama 35 hari menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan, yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (kontrol + VitaChick®), dan P2 (kontrol + ekstrak kulit kentang 400 ppm). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang tidak berpengaruh nyata (P > 0,05) terhadap persentase karkas, bagian-bagian karkas, maupun organ dalam ayam broiler. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang dengan dosis 400 ppm belum mampu meningkatkan persentase karkas maupun memengaruhi organ dalam, namun masih berada dalam batas toleransi fisiologis ayam broiler. The increasing restriction on the use of antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) has encouraged the utilization of natural feed additives, one of which is potato peel extract containing various bioactive compounds. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of potato peel extract administered through drinking water on carcass percentage and internal organs of broiler chickens. A total of 180 day old Cobb500 broiler chicks were reared for 35 days using a completely randomized design with three treatments: P0 (control), P1 (control + VitaChick®), and P2 (control + 400 ppm potato peel extract). The observed variables included carcass percentage, carcass cut percentages, and internal organ percentages. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results showed that potato peel extract administered through drinking water had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on carcass percentage, carcass cut percentages, or internal organ percentages of broiler chickens. Based on these results, it was concluded that administration of potato peel extract at a dose of 400 ppm did not increase carcass percentage or affect internal organ percentages, while remaining within the physiological tolerance range of broiler chickens.
