| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kualitas fisik dan daya tumbuh stek odot (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) dengan berbagai metode penyimpanan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan 240 stek odot berumur 3 bulan dan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial 4 x 3 dengan 20 ulangan. Faktor pertama perlakuan bahan pengawet, terdiri dari P1 = Penyimpanan tanpa bahan pengawet (kontrol), P2 = Penyimpanan dengan silica gel, P3 = Penyimpanan dengan cairan lilin, dan P4 = Penyimpanan dengan larutam gula. Faktor kedua lama penyimpanan stek, terdiri dari L1 = Stek disimpan selama 3 hari, L2 = Stek disimpan selama 6 hari, dan L3 = Stek disimpan selama 9 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata penyusutan bobot stek tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan bahan pengawet larutan gula yaitu 3,42 g, sedangkan nilai persentase daya tumbuh stek tertinggi yaitu 100 % terdapat pada perlakuan P1L2 dan P3L1. Simpulan pada hasil penelitian yaitu penyimpanan hingga 9 hari menurunkan kualitas fisik, meningkatkan penyusutan bobot, dan menurunkan daya tumbuh stek rumput odot. Penggunaan silica gel paling efektif mempertahankan kualitas fisik dengan tingkat kontaminasi mikroorganisme yang lebih rendah dan mempertahankan daya tumbuh stek selama penyimpanan hingga 9 hari. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to evaluate the physical quality and sprouting ability of Odot grass ( Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) cuttings subjected to various storage methods. The study utilized 240 Odot cuttings (3 months old) and employed a 4 x 3 factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 20 replicates. The first factor was the preservative treatment: P1 = storage without preservatives (control), P2 = storage with silica gel, P3 = storage with liquid wax, and P4 = storage with sugar solution. The second factor was the storage duration: L1 = 3 days, L2 = 6 days, and L3 = 9 days. The results showed that the highest average weight loss occurred with the sugar solution treatment (3.42 g), while the highest sprouting rate (100%) was observed in treatments P1L2 and P3L1. The study concluded that storage for up to 9 days reduced physical quality, increased weight loss, and decreased the sprouting ability of Odot grass cuttings. The use of silica gel was the most effective method for maintaining physical quality resulting in lower levels of microbial contamination and preserving sprouting ability during storage for up to 9 days. | |
