      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi karakteristik degradasi bahan pakan yang umum digunakan pada peternakan sapi perah rakyat menggunakan metode in sacco dengan waktu inkubasi 0–72 jam. Bahan pakan yang diuji meliputi konsentrat premium, konsentrat super, onggok, konsentrat mako, ampas tahu, dedak padi, dan rumput gajah. Parameter yang diamati meliputi degradasi bahan kering, bahan organik, protein kasar, effective degradability (ED), rumen degradable protein (RDP), dan rumen undegradable protein (RUP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik degradasi berbeda nyata (P<0,05) antar bahan pakan. Konsentrat premium memiliki nilai ED protein kasar dan RDP tertinggi, sedangkan onggok memiliki nilai RUP tertinggi. Rumput gajah menunjukkan degradasi terendah akibat tingginya kandungan serat. Formulasi ransum menghasilkan variasi keseimbangan RDP dan RUP, dengan ransum P1, P2, dan P4 menunjukkan proporsi yang lebih seimbang (60:40). Simpulan dari penelitian ini penggunaan konsentrat premium dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan kadar RDP di dalam ransum menjadi lebih optimal
       
      This study aimed to evaluate the degradation characteristics of feed ingredients commonly used in smallholder dairy farms using the in sacco method with incubation periods of 0–72 h. The feed ingredients evaluated were premium concentrate, super concentrate, cassava pulp (onggok), mako concentrate, tofu by-product, rice bran, and elephant grass. The observed parameters included dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP) degradation, effective degradability (ED), rumen degradable protein (RDP), and rumen undegradable protein (RUP). The results showed significant differences (P<0.05) in degradation characteristics among feed ingredients. Premium concentrate had the highest CP ED and RDP values, whereas cassava pulp exhibited the highest RUP value. Elephant grass showed the lowest degradability due to its high fiber content. Ration formulation resulted in different RDP:RUP proportions, with P1, P2, and P4 showing a balanced ratio (60:40). In conclusion, the use of premium concentrate improved the RDP proportion in the ration and may enhance nitrogen availability for rumen microbial protein synthesis
