dc.description.abstractBudidaya ikan lele (Clarias sp.) secara intensif meningkatkan risiko infeksi epizootic ulcerative syndrome (EUS) yang disebabkan oleh Aphanomyces invadans. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kepadatan spora A. invadans terhadap perubahan histopatologi dan hematologi ikan lele. Uji tantang dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan kepadatan zoospora (1,89×106; 2,64×106; 3,40×106 zoospora/mL) dan kontrol selama 14 hari. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup semua perlakuan infeksi rendah (10–13%) dibandingkan kontrol (90%). Kerusakan histopatologi bersifat progresif seiring peningkatan kepadatan spora, mulai dari invasi hifa, nekrosis, dan edema, hingga degenerasi hidropik dan atrofi otot pada kepadatan tertinggi, serta pembentukan granuloma mikotik pada kepadatan menengah. Parameter eritrosit menurun nyata pada seluruh perlakuan infeksi, sedangkan total leukosit, respiratory burst, dan aktivitas fagositik meningkat signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepadatan spora berkorelasi positif dengan keparahan kerusakan jaringan dan gangguan hematologi sebagai acuan infeksi A. invadans pada ikan lele.
dc.description.abstractIntensive catfish (Clarias sp.) aquaculture increases the risk of epizootic ulcerative syndrome (EUS) caused by Aphanomyces invadans. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different A. invadans spore densities on histopathological and hematological changes in catfish. A challenge test was conducted using a completely randomized design with three zoospore density treatments (1,89×106; 2,64×106; 3,40×106 zoospora/mL) and a control over 14 days. Survival rates in all infection treatments were low (10–13%) compared to the control (90%). Histopathological damage progressed with increasing spore density, from hyphal invasion, necrosis, and edema, to hydropic degeneration and muscle atrophy at the highest density, and mycotic granuloma at the intermediate density. Erythrocytic parameters decreased significantly across all infection groups, while total leukocytes, respiratory burst, and phagocytic activity increased markedly. Spore density positively correlates with tissue damage severity and hematological disturbances, providing of A. invadans infection in catfish.
