      Abstract
Peubah yang diamatiadalah konsumsi pakan, bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan(PBB), mortalitas, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), dan Income Over Feed and Chick Cost (IOFCC).

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of arginine and guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) supplementation in low-energy diets on the performance of broiler chickens. The study was conducted from June to July 2025 at the Closed House Field Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, IPB University, using 600 Cobb strain broiler chickens reared for 35 days. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and ten replications was employed, with ten birds per replication. The treatments were as follows: P1 = positive control (ME 3.100 kcal kg?¹); P2 = negative control (ME 2.950 kcal kg?¹); P3 = P2 + GAA 600 g MT?¹; P4= P2 + arginine 462 g MT?¹; P5 = P2 + arginine 600 g MT?¹; and P6 = P2 + arginine 900 g MT?¹. The variables observed were feed intake, body weight, body weight gain (BWG), mortality, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and income over feed and chick cost (IOFCC). The results showed that arginine and GAA supplementation in low-energy diets had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed intake, body weight gain, body weight, feed conversion ratio, or mortality. The IOFCC value obtained in P4 was moreefficient in reducing feed costs. In conclusion, the supplementation of arginine and GAA in low-energy diets resulted in similar performance among treatments. Supplementation with 462 g MT?¹ arginine remained economically beneficial based on the IOFCC calculation.
