Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi arginin dan guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) dalam ransum rendah energi terhadap karakteristik
karkas dan rasio daging–tulang ayam broiler fase finisher. Sebanyak 600 ekor DOC strain Cobb ditempatkan dalam rancangan acak lengkap dengan enam perlakuan dan sepuluh ulangan: P1 (kontrol positif; 3.100 kkal kg?¹), P2 (kontrol negatif; 2.950 kkal kg?¹), P3 (P2 + 0,60 g kg?¹ GAA), P4 (P2 + 0,46 g kg?¹ arginin; arg/lys
111%), P5 (P2 + 0,60 g kg?¹ arginin; arg/lys 112%) dan P6 (P2 + 0,90 g kg?¹ arginin; arg/lys 115%). Ransum diberikan selama fase finisher (hari ke-21–35). Hasil penelitian menujukkan suplementasi arginin berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase karkas dan persentase dada (P<0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot potong, sebagian besar komponen non karkas, dan rasio daging–tulang. Perlakuan P4 menghasilkan persentase karkas tertinggi (73,35%) dan persentase dada tertinggi (43,34%). Simpulan penelitian yaitu peningkatan dosis arginin tidak memperbaiki karakteristik karkas lebih lanjut. Penambahan arginin sebanyak 0,46 g kg?¹ (P4) merupakan level optimum mendukung karakteristik karkas broiler yang diberi ransum rendah energi. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of arginine and guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) supplementation in low-energy diets on carcass characteristics and meat-to-bone ratio of finisher-phase broiler chickens. A total of 600 day-old chicks (DOC) of the Cobb strain were allocated in a completely randomized design with six treatments and ten replicates: P1 (positive control; 3,100 kcal kg?¹), P2 (negative control; 2,950 kcal kg?¹), P3 (P2 + 0.60 g kg?¹ GAA), P4 (P2 + 0.46 g kg?¹ arginine; Arg:Lys 111%), P5 (P2 + 0.60 g kg?¹ arginine; Arg:Lys 112%), and P6 (P2 + 0.90 g kg?¹ arginine; Arg:Lys 115%). Diets were provided during the finisher phase (days 21–35). The results showed that arginine supplementation significantly affected carcass percentage and breast percentage (P<0.05), but had no significant effect on live weight, most non-carcass components, or the meat-to-bone ratio. Treatment P4 produced the highest carcass percentage (73.35%) and breast percentage (43.34%). This study concludes that increasing the arginine dose did not further improve carcass characteristics. The addition of 0.46 g kg?¹ arginine (P4) represents the optimum level for supporting carcass characteristics in broilers fed low-energy diets.
