kecernaan nutrien secara in vitro.
(Ransum P0 + PFAD terproteksi CaCO3 1%), P2 (Ransum P0 + PFAD terproteksi CaCO3
2%), P3 (Ransum P0 + PFAD terproteksi CaCO3 3%), dan P4 (Ransum P0 + PFAD
terproteksi CaCO3 4%). Parameter yang diamati meliputi pH rumen, populasi bakteri,
protozoa, konsentrasi NH3, VFA total, VFA parsial, kecernaan bahan kering (KCBK), bahan
nutrien, tetapi meningkatkan konsentrasi VFA total. VFA parsial tidak menunjukkan
perbedaan nyata antar perlakuan.

| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different inclusion levels of protected
Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) in the form of calcium soap on rumen fermentability and
nutrient digestibility using an in vitro method. The experiment was conducted using a
randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisting of five treatments and three blocks.
The treatments were: P0 (50% forage : 50% concentrate), P1 (P0 ration + 1% PFAD protected
with CaCO3), P2 (P0 ration + 2% PFAD protected with CaCO3), P3 (P0 ration + 3% PFAD
protected with CaCO3), and P4 (P0 ration + 4% PFAD protected with CaCO3). The observed
parameters included rumen pH, bacterial and protozoal populations, NH3 concentration, total
volatile fatty acids (VFA), individual VFA, dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter
digestibility (OMD), and fiber fraction digestibility (NDF and ADF). The results showed that
protected PFAD supplementation had no significant effect on rumen pH but significantly
affected microbial populations, NH3 concentration, total VFA concentration, and nutrient
digestibility. Increasing PFAD supplementation levels reduced bacterial and protozoal
populations as well as nutrient digestibility, while increasing total VFA concentration. Partial
VFA concentrations did not differ significantly among treatments. It can be concluded that the
optimal supplementation level was 2%–3%, as it maintained rumen fermentation balance,
improved the efficiency of energy and nitrogen utilization, and preserved nutrient digestibility. | |
