dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung tandan kosong sawit (TKS) sebagai bahan pengisi (filler) terhadap komposisi karkas, non karkas, dan rasio daging–tulang ayam broiler. Sebanyak 200 ekor ayam broiler strain Cobb dipelihara selama 35 hari menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, serta masing-masing ulangan menggunakan 10 ekor ayam. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 (ransum kontrol), P1 (ransum mengandung 0,8% Arbocel®), P2 (ransum mengandung 0,8% TKS) dan P3 (ransum mengandung 0,8%TKS + enzim koktail 0,02%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap persentase paha atas dan bawah, tetapi tidak terhadap parameter lainnya. Perlakuan P1 menghasilkan persentase paha bawah 16,72% lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol, namun tidak berbeda dengan perlakuan penggunaan TKS. Perlakuan P2 dan P3 menghasilkan persentase paha atas lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan Arbocel®. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan tepung TKS 0,8% berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai filler tanpa menurunkan kualitas karkas.
dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to evaluate the effect of empty fruit bunch (EFB) meal as a feed filler on carcass composition, non-carcass composition, and meat–bone ratio of broiler chickens. A total of 200 Cobb strain broilers were reared for 35 days using a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications, with each replication consisting of 10 birds. The treatments consisted of P0 (control diet), P1 (diet containing 0.8% Arbocel®), P2 (diet containing 0.8% EFB meal), and P3 (diet containing 0.8% EFB meal + 0.02% cocktail enzyme). The results showed that the treatments significantly affected (p<0.05) the percentages of upper and lower thigh, but had no significant effect on the other parameters. Treatment P1 produced a higher lower thigh percentage 16.72% compared with the control treatment, but was not significantly different from the EFB treatments. Treatments P2 and P3 resulted in higher upper thigh percentages compared with the Arbocel® treatment. In conclusion, the use of 0.8% EFB meal has the potential to be utilized as an filler without reducing carcass quality
