Indonesia ranks as the world’s largest seaweed exporter however, this achievement has not been fully reflected in the export value obtained. Indonesia supplies 94% of total seaweed import demand in East Asia., nevertheless Indonesia’s seaweed exports to East Asia have shown fluctuating trends, indicating that export performance is influenced not only by export volume but also by other economic factors. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of competitiveness and the determinants of Indonesia’s seaweed trade flows in East Asia. The study used secondary data from 2012-2024 covering export destinations including China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The analytical methods employed were Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamics (EPD), and the gravity model. The results show that Indonesian seaweed has comparative competitiveness in China, South Korea, and Hong Kong, while its competitiveness in Japan and Taiwan remains relatively weak. The market position dynamics of Indonesian seaweed varied across periods. In addition, economic distance, RCA value, Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs), and tariffs significantly affect the export volume of Indonesian seaweed
