      Abstract
Dosis 10 mg/L menghasilkan kepadatan sel tertinggi sebesar 106 × 104 sel/mL, LPS tertinggi sebesar 42,04%/hari, serta biomassa kering tertinggi sebesar 251 mg/L.

The availability of high-quality natural feed, especially microalgae, is an important factor in the success of fish and shrimp hatcheries. One potential microalgae is Thalassiosira sp., but its productivity is still not optimal due to various uncontrollable external factors. Therefore, a method of increasing growth through the addition of phytohormones, such as indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), is needed. This study aims to analyze the effect of different doses of IAA on the growth performance of Thalassiosira sp.. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with five dose treatments, namely control, 2,5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 7,5 mg/L, and 10 mg/L, each with four replicates. The study was conducted using 20 L plastic jars with an 8-day cultivation period. The main nutrient composition followed the Walne medium formula. The parameters observed included cell density, specific growth rate (SGR), dry biomass, and cell weight. The results showed that IAA administration had a positive effect on the growth of Thalassiosira sp. The 10 mg/L dose produced the highest cell density of 106 × 104 cells/mL, the highest SGR of 42.04%/day, and the highest dry biomass of 251 mg/L. The highest cell weight was found at a dose of 7.5 mg/L, amounting to 650 pg per cell. These results indicate that IAA has the potential to be used as a microalgae growth stimulant to support the availability of natural feed in aquaculture.
