      Abstract

Fish live transportation plays a crucial role in distributing fish because it can have a direct impact on the level of stress experienced by fish during and after the transportation process. One alternative that can be used to reduce stress is the use of purple sweet potato leaf extract (Ipomoea batatas), which contains polyphenol compounds with calming properties and provides mild sedative effects. This study aims to analyze the effect of administering sweet potato leaf extract in a closed transportation system for 24 hours on golden black molly fish (Poecilia sphenops). This study applied the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with three treatments and three replications each, namely without extract (P0), the addition of 2 mL L-1 extract (P2), 4 mL L-1 extract (P4), and 6 mL L-1 extract (P6). The parameters analyzed include the quality of the water media, blood glucose levels, survival rate, and growth after transportation. The results showed that treatment with 2 mL L-1 extract provided the highest survival rate, reaching 94%, compared to other treatments.
