      Abstract

This study aims to determine the right dose of organic Mn addition to feed that can increase the growth of catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Mn is an essential micromineral that acts as a cofactor for various enzymes such as arginase, Mn- superoxide dismutase (Mn-SOD), and glycosyltransferase. The study used a randomized complete block design (CRD) with three replications with four treatments of feed supplemented with Mn at levels of 0, 15, 30, 45 mg kg-1 feed. Parameters observed included specific growth rate (SGR), average daily gain (ADG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), protein efficiency ratio (REP), total feed consumption, and survival rate (SR). Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS version 26.0, with normality and homogeneity tests before ANNOVA static test. Ten catfish measuring 10.15±0.02 g were stocked in an aquarium measuring 50 x 40 x 35 cm with a water volume of 50 L and maintained for 60 days. Feed was given at satiation three times a day. The results showed that the addition of organic Mn to the feed had a significant effect on growth parameters, with a dose of 45 mg kg-1 showing the best response compared to the control.
